Rutba vs RingCentral
A carrier-grade cloud phone system, shipping now, at a scale we are nowhere near. The comparison is about where a call ends up, not about who can place one.

What RingCentral is
Cloud communications: a full business phone system with numbers in many countries, calling, messaging, video meetings, contact-centre capability, and compliance and reliability commitments appropriate to regulated industries.
Who it genuinely suits
- Any business that needs a phone system working this quarter
- Multi-country operations needing local numbers and local regulatory compliance
- Contact centres, and businesses with uptime obligations on voice
Where they win
What RingCentral does better than us.
Every comparison page on this site has this section and none of them is empty. If it were, you would be right to discount the rest of the page.
It exists and ours does not yet
This is the whole of the honest first answer. Rutba Calls is labelled coming soon on our own site: the record-keeping half runs, the telephony half is not released, and the deskphone, switchboard and campaign apps are scaffolds. RingCentral is a working phone system today.
Carrier relationships, numbers and reliability
Global number inventory, emergency calling obligations, regulatory compliance per market, and the operational track record behind a voice service. Years of work that is not primarily software.
Contact centre depth
Queues, routing, workforce management and analytics at a level we have not specified, let alone built.
Where we win
What Rutba does that this does not.
Argued from how the products are built rather than from a feature list, because feature lists are the part of a comparison that goes stale first.
The call belongs to the record, not to a connector
The half of Rutba Calls that is live today is exactly this: number inventory, click-to-call logging, consented recording references and the call on the customer timeline. With RingCentral that link is an integration between two vendors, and it is the first thing to break.
One vendor, one bill, one offboarding
Removing somebody from your organization removes their phone, their mailbox and their access to the business software in one action, because it is one directory.
When ours lands, it lands inside the CRM
Stated as a future rather than a feature, because it is one. What exists today is the ledger; the switchboard and the agent surface are being built and are labelled as such on every page.
And the one that is not a feature
RingCentral, Inc. will not build what you ask for. We will.
That is not a criticism of them — a vendor at their scale has to weigh your request against every other customer it touches, and schedule it behind a roadmap set a year out. Your request is a rounding error in their planning, honestly so. We are small, and the people building the product are the people you talk to: what helps everyone goes into the product at no extra charge, what is specific to you is quoted as the work it is, and when the answer is no you get the reason.
Side by side
The same six questions the hub asks of everyone.
| Question | Rutba | RingCentral |

| Runs the businessCRM, stock, orders, production and the ledger, from one vendor | Included | Not covered |
| Runs the dayMail, files, documents, chat and meetings, included rather than licensed separately | Included | Partly |

On price: We do not reproduce RingCentral, Inc.’s prices here. A list price is published and fair to quote, and it is stale within a quarter — which would make this page quietly wrong in a way you could not see. Read today’s number from them, and ours is on our pricing page in full, tier by tier.
Moving
What leaving RingCentral actually involves.
The question that decides this is not whether you should move but whether you can. This is the honest version, including the parts that do not come across.
- 1
Do not move a working phone system to a product that is not released. If you need telephony now, buy RingCentral and revisit this later — we would give you the same advice on a call.
- 2
What can move now is the record-keeping: click-to-call logging and the call ledger against the customer timeline, alongside your existing provider.
- 3
Number porting is a carrier process and takes weeks regardless of vendor.
- 4
The realistic sequence is Rutba for the business first, telephony when ours is released.
No customer has done this yet. The steps above describe the mechanism — what exports, what imports, what has to be rebuilt — rather than a migration we have run. When one has been run, this section will say whose it was.
Our actual recommendation
Buy RingCentral if you need a phone system. This page exists so you know what we will offer and when — not to talk you out of a product that works.
If you did move
The products this comparison is about.
With their real availability labels, which apply inside a comparison exactly as they do everywhere else on this site.
Note before you compare: Rutba Calls, Rutba Meet, Rutba Chat are not generally available yet. Any row above that we win on them is a claim about what ships, not about what you can buy today.
