Anyone can put a picture of a signature on a page. What decides a dispute two years later is whether you can still show what happened: who opened it, from where, what disclosure they accepted, in what order, and that not one byte has moved since. Rutba Sign records that ceremony as it happens, hash-chains it so it cannot be reordered or thinned, and seals it. The counterparty can verify the result without an account, without trusting us, and without paying anything.
In early access. Early access. Organizations use Sign today, each on its own instance, and onboarding is hands-on: there is no card checkout yet, so talk to us and we will set you up. Rutba Sign for individuals is built too, as one shared instance where each person sees only their own envelopes, templates and agreements. The whole life of an agreement is built: drafted together in the shared word processor, sent by link, in-app or in person, signed at a table where each person leaves with a receipt countersigned by Rutba, stamped or notarised where the paper needs it (by you with the proof attached, or arranged by Rutba), sealed, then managed and renewed. Two pieces are outstanding and worth knowing before you compare us to anyone: the identity-verification and qualified-certificate partners that European qualified signatures require, and vendor rails behind the formality desk, which a person at Rutba works by hand today. Two things are already decided and worth knowing now. Marks and values are drawn on the pages of the uploaded PDF by the format’s own append-only mechanism, so the original bytes never change and the evidence record, not the picture, is what makes a signature valid. And a customer who stops paying keeps every completed envelope and its evidence, permanently. Verification stays public and free for the same reason.

The shared instance for individuals is built on the same app. Fields are placed by clicking on the rendered page, by coordinates, or by anchor text the document carries; signers complete them in the ceremony, and the executed copy draws every mark and value on the pages of the original PDF. Documents can be drafted from answers to a few questions, and a shelf of starter agreements is ready to copy.

Built and green, with the evidence ledger, the seal, an RFC 3161 timestamp from a public authority and the platform countersignature. It also carries the integrator API with your own keys, signed webhooks, an OpenAPI document and a dependency-free SDK, and the agreement lifecycle: calendars, renewals and formalities. Around 231 automated checks stand behind it, including both tamper directions and the owner’s whole journey end to end.

Live, and free forever: anybody holding a signed document checks it at rutba.io/sign/verify without an account, without a subscription and without trusting us. Rutba answers what it can attest (this reference was presented to us at this time, with the countersignature to check against our published key) and nothing about the document itself, which it never sees. A single party’s receipt verifies the same way, countersigned the moment they acted. Whether the package itself is intact is the Sign app’s own check, where the package is actually in hand.
Some of these are not finished, and they are labelled. You are not charged for an app you cannot open: the plans below switch on what ships, and anything marked here arrives on your existing plan when it lands.
