Hosted email at your own domain is a solved, competitive, largely undifferentiated market. Mailboxes, spam filtering, IMAP, a web client — every provider has them and most do them well. Nobody needs another one of those.
What is genuinely missing is smaller and more specific. A customer emails about an order. Answering well requires knowing what they ordered, whether a ticket is open, and whether they owe you anything. All three facts exist in your software. None of them is on the screen where the message is.
The customer, beside the message
Rutba Mail shows the sender’s orders, tickets and balance next to the message, and filing the message against the deal it concerns is a click rather than a copy-paste into another system.
This only works because the customer record is not in a different product. It is the same argument as the CRM post, arriving from the other direction: the reason a mail client can show you a balance is that the balance is not somewhere else.

IMAP is on that list deliberately. A business email product without it is a product betting you will never want to leave, and that bet is one a buyer should notice being made.
